Amy Porter has had a thing for her twin brother’s best friend since she was a teenager. After being considered “one of the boys” throughout her childhood, he’s the first guy to look at her and see past the tomboy she used to be. Unfortunately, he’s also completely off-limits. She does her best to move on as the years go by, but it’s not until her life takes a drastic turn that she finally accepts the fact that they aren't meant to be. However, as her world crumbles around her, Nate always seems to be close by to help her pick up the pieces.
Nate Miller knows that Amy is the one girl he can never have. No matter how badly he wants her, he won’t risk destroying his friendship, or the promise he made to look out for her when her brother goes overseas with the Marines. As life continues to get in the way and keep them apart, the only logical choice is to give up… but giving up is the last thing he wants to do.
With so many obstacles stacked up against them, can they find a way to make it work or are they headed for a breakdown?

Just didn't float my boat....I had trouble really feeling anything for the people in this book. Why did Amy care so much what her brother had to say about her life and relationship? Why did the brother teeter on the obsessive side when it came to his twin sister? He acted more like a jealous lover, as apposed to a caring sibling...Little creepy..And then we have Nate. Yes, he was a sweetie, but Dude!! Man up and tell Dex to take a long walk off a short pier!! There was no real build up to the ending....It just ended. While I don't feel the need to go wash my minds eye with bleach, I also can't in good conscience recommend this book.Product details

Breakdown edition by Ellie Grace Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is definitely a must read book. I thought for sure at the beginning she would of gotten pregnant from Nate. I like how overly protective her brother Dex was with her.
I can't wait to read about Dec & Olivia.
I loved reading Amy & Nate's story! As a mother I look up to Amy and the courage she had throughout her journey. What a great read! Ellie Grace is one of my favorite authors and each of her books just gets better and better!!
Sweet story. You feel so bad for Amy and all the crap that happens to her.
My only thing that was hard to get through for me, was all the unanswered stuff going on between Olivia and Dex. I know they have their own book, but I wish we were told which one to read first. Now I am confused.
This story takes places over several years. Amy Porter always hung out with her twin brother and friends over the years. Amy Porter was also off limits. Nate Miller is the one girl he will never get to pursue and the girl he wants is his best friend's twin sister. Over the years, friendship and tragedy brings them back together. This can be read as standalone.
I thought the overall story was good and liked the characters but I felt like it drug on too long before the main characters finally got together. I found myself getting bored and skimming through a lot of pages. The author does some good writing I just felt it needed more character development and not quite so much of the explanations and thoughts. Just needs a little more oomph
I read break away first and loved the characters and the chemistry between them. When I saw Breakdown had come out, I just had to get it. I loved Nate and Amy in Breakaway and couldn't wait to read tier story. The two books do overlap and repeat themselves but it's done in a way that you don't mind it at all. I was so glad that Nate and Amy got their hea. Read one or read both. You won't be disappointed!!!
Breakdown is one of these kinds of romance books that I enjoy reading and it was a refreshing pace of what I’ve been reading lately. Amy has always crushed on her brother’s friend, Nate, but knew she never had a chance. All of his friends had known she was ‘off limits’ and was never looked at as anything as a friend. Nate is oh so dreamy and the typical boy next door whom everyone seems to want to love.
As the book and time progresses, Nate begins to see her as a woman and not just the little sister of his friend. As much as they both think they can’t be together, we all know that can only last for so long. I love seeing how much they try to deny what their feelings are but yet they know they can’t. They make the cutest couple and I found this book to be enjoyable because I quickly fell in love with Nate and Amy. It’s a cute and sweet story that is also a quick read that I recommend.
